vote for mel and maks
i was watching the view this morning like i do every morning during commercial breaks of the price is right, and barbara walters was talking about her weekend and what she did. and it turns out she and i both watched the godfather part 2, and beauty shop on basic cable. it was eerie, and yet somehow nice to know. these are my confessions...
watching 2 hours of american idol gets wayyy more exciting when your alternative is reading about protein synthesis. whats embarasing though is when you are watching it, and the contestants are crying because they got to meet stevie wonder, and then you end up crying too. i wish i knew how to quit jake gyllenhaal, tv obsessions, and eating junk food
I wish that I could drop out of school and just watch movies everyday and get paid for it. but since i have "horrible" taste i don't think anyone will be paying me to watch movies anytime soon. Thats aight tho because in the meantime i ll just go to my boring clsses. Calculous is insane. Also all of the kids in my business classes are pretty crazy. I dont really get yet how they can be excited about being accountants and managers, but they re so motivated and fierce that its contaigous. So i love them because they remind me of contestants on the apprentice or michael j fox's character in "the secret of my succe$s". The best part of 2006 is the tv so far. man tonight has one tree hill, lost, and project runway. but to watch those shows i have to miss ice skating with the stars and american idol and the biggest loser. damn. also big in 2006 is i watched an entire football game, and i think i m gonna give into the peer pressure and start liking it. like i did with lost...and business...and cocaine. also to update you my favorite nba player is pau gasol. he is my hero. it's been over a month since i last drank any beverage with caffiene in it. man its crazy. the first step was easy but man i almost miss waking up with a headache and having to drink 2 glasses of mountain dew to feel awake. ah well i'm a survivor like beyonce and rudy right? shoutouts to ryan seacrest for being so awesome. i'm knee deep in the game
One update every 5 months is good right? Since May i finished spring quarter with a 4.0 gpa, <3 humanities classes, then I had an internship at the prosecuters office where i learned how to operate a scanner, got to hang out dowtown with my awesome mother and cousins, read about crazy people committing crazy crimes, and got to experience Maury show like paternity test results first hand in family support :) working every day in the summer from 9-5 had me locked up, but i made a lot of money and avoided the seemingly inevitable day time tv and junk food addictions that would've resulted from a summer without a job. i spent my nights after work and on the weekends hanging out with david, (going for walks in des moines like old people, playing nintendo games on the modded xbox, seeing an impressive amount of movies at the best theatre ever; galaxy gateway 8, etc. etc.), and hanging out with james gifford and wordy, who're perhaps 2 of the coolest people anyone could ever meet. Now I'm back at school and I live in the forest amongst the hippies in a place called fairhaven. So far the food is delicious, me and lauras room is the cutest room ever, and i have seen 2 deer. I'm going to major in some business type thing, which will hopefully still lead to a tv related career that allows me to make lots of money. Anyway because of this education decision i am currently taking fun classes such as Macroeconomics, Algebra with Business Applications, Geology and Environmental studies...they arent the most exciting classes ever, so far its all good though i guess. Rachel and Julie: 1. I hugged cousin jim this summer...and 2. i miss you guys! i hope everyones lives are going well, and if they aren't, i reccomend watching Tyra and Ellen every morning. it's like a movie with the ending credits etched in the screen
*Assalaamu'alaikum. Ed is the new Dawsons Creek. I watch the reruns of it on TBS in order every day at 12 00. such an embarasingly beautiful addiction. its almost the final episode though, which is pretty sad. My dad and i made a vow thursday night to never watch the OC again. I think this is for the best, im not sure why we let ourselves get so addicted to it in the first place. Desperate Housewives is the new OC. Extreme makeover home edition makes me cry every week. right now i am wearing a golden girls t shirt and watching jeopardy alone while reading online journals...is this uncool? right now i would like to be wearing the new adidas city shoes while watching "kicking and screaming" with david and eating an oreo cookie blizzard...that would be the opposite of uncool. what would barbara streisand do?
*i think i was more productive this quarter than last quarter. i base that on the fact that this quarter i hardly watched any tv or went anywhere on weeknights. school has me locked up, but in a cute studious and practical way. i have learned about oligopolies, water pollution, synthesis papers, and the importance of yiddishkeit. one of my teachers is a rabbi and another played the banjo and sang about pollution, so all in all its been interesting. i really want to get all A's this quarter. *i also really want to see "be cool" on friday because the rock is in it. for the record i believe the rock is a better actor than jamie foxx. i do have time for some tv here, on mondays and wednesdays i watch live with regis and kelli, i love that show. then after class i watch dawsons or ellen until david calls me. at night i have significantly cut back, i dont even watch jeopardy anymore. oc one tree ER and american idol though are ones i never miss. i turned 19 on sunday. where did all the years go? i got an mp3 player from my parents and put music on it ranging from songs off of the fiddler on the roof soundtrack to switch by will smith who i am obsessed with, but im less obsessed wit him than i am with kevin james, (hitch is hallarious). anyway no one else would like the songs i have on it, but i do and it makes walking to class funner. *last weekend james and i threw a crazy wild crunk party at our house. and by that i mean we had david jessica ly charles and WORDY over to play scene it. wordy and david chest bumped like the had one the ncaa championship cuz they got an answer right, anyway david wordy and i won and so nate and james went to get a movie for us all to watch and cuz they re so insane they came back with "the 6th man" probably the best movie ever. *well anyway rachele and julie i miss you guys. we never get to talk or see each other anymore and it is scary. mad love for the cousins and we need to keep doing it for fun soon please. SPRING BREAK would be a good time i think and its soon. *i would like for it to be summer. i would like it if laguna beach were back on. i would like it if david van would pick me up and hang out wit me and get me a blizzard right now. i would like to work in television, have large amounts of money, and buy a girrafe. while i wait for those things though ill just watch american idol. sorry if u took the time to read this, it was mainly to keep me busy because i am at a loss because this is my first night without hw and since its too early to hit up the club scene in vancouver, lj is the next best thing. we got more bounce in california
updating is fun. on december 6th i had my last final at 5 40 pm. then brian and i hit the road with the quickness, and it was only slightly scary cuz we couldnt get the defroster to work, and the da vinci code audio tapes were at a dull point. finals week was insane, lots and lots of studying and anxiety. it all worked out really well though and i got my 3 A's in my cool subjects and my C- in math! which means i passed and can move on to business math:) friday the 7th david took the day off work so we got to eat at a delicious place and i had katzu chicken. later we went to the mall and loitered, ate dinner at taco time with my family, and watched a fun tyee basketball game. saturday my family and i all traveled to the oc! disneyland was fun as usual. we got to go on scary rides, and see lots of lc type california girls in those snow boot type shoes. it was hot. it was fun spending time with my family, and having crunk parties in my hotel room wit julie, and by that i mean reading our books and watching napoleon dynamite, (we got room keys). my family and i saw oceans 12 at this enormous theatre, which was cool. and wordy entertained us as usual with crazy dinner antics at mrs knotts chicken dinner. spanish radio and cabbage for life. well the trip ended tuesday and david picked us up from the airport like a crazy taxi driver and hung out with me for awhile. the next morning, being this wednesday, i got up and had my second experience with oral surgery. man oh man gum grafting is not as hot and exciting as it sounds. it didnt hurt as bad this time though and my vicodins helped dull the pain last night:) so that i felt well enough to utilize chuckies last day as a theatre employee, and the end of our many many free movies,:( ill miss that. but i m happy for him because online gambling is a much funner job. so last night our last chuckie provided movie was again...oceans 12! it was fun watching it again because i didnt really get it the first time anyway. plus this time my em was there and we drank ice free coke, and jess and ly were out of the house. which is always really cool and exciting. seeing jessica wave over eddie thompson was hallarious. today my face was all swollen like i got punched. brian and i watched arrested development dvds, such a good show! then i downloaded lots of songs and david came over. we ate delicious spanish rice and watched tapes of james as a baby and office space:) then of course we ended the night by watching the oc. because james and i hate it, (while being addicted to it at the same time), and david just appreciates the magic of Chrismauka. Er was cancelled tonight. that makes me sad. i love christmas break though.- Current Mood: highCurrent Music: whitney houston-waiting to exhale | | Saturday, December 4th, 2004 | | 12:57 am |

let the rain fall down
i stare at people a lot. its weird. i catch myself doing it, then the person catches me doing it, and then i still dont look away. these western kids are probably going to beat me up.i like making up stories about who they are.when you eat meals alone at odd times of the day sometimes you have to improvise for entertainment. i have been studying a lot. im glad the quarter is ending and that im going to be getting some new classes. thanksgiving break was a lot of fun. we had huge bow and arrow wars, ate greek food, saw greek movies, watched laguna beach marathons, learned that james and his friends have interesting taste in movies, got to hang out with ly and jessica, played daoc, visited family, got to spend 5 days with my em, yeah the break was nice. im more excited for winter break and getting to come home for lots and lots of days:)tonight it snowed. that was pretty crazy. i need to make a christmas list? any ideas? are any of you taking a class called the jewish american experience? if not i think you should all sign up. this quarter of college i actually learned a lot. probably more than i ever learned in high school. it was crazy and hallarious and mind blowing and all that. someday soon i would like to visit Chicago,Il., Westchester, PA., and Las Vegas, NV. the first for jerry, oprah, and kanye. the second for bam, dunn, and vito. the third for fun. if you would like to finance one of these trips. email me. this week has been nothing but classes, studying, dinner, studying. repeat. i was getting pretty stressed out. but today i completed 5 pages of my term paper, and so now i can breathe again:) i intend on spending veterans day 2004 sleeping in, finishing my term paper, doing my math hw, studying for my math quiz, eating dinner, reading about the black panther party, watching the oc/joey(total sell out and retreat of previous activity), watching life as we know it/apprentice, watching ER, talking on the phone to my em, talking online, sleeping <3 Current Mood: accomplishedCurrent Music: lets go.....lil jon off the james mix, For C | | Thursday, November 4th, 2004 | | 12:38 am |

you can find me in the club... f r i d a y...woke up really early and had too much time before class, so i did my hair in an elaborate senior year like updo, while watching mtv video wake up:) so sick of the mosh video...but still, vote or die guys. then it was finally 8 30 so i went to lit class and we talked about langston hughes and wrote f*ck the government type poems. ate breakfast alone as always and sudied my math. took a pretty hard math test. ate lunch with the old crew. laura. brian. briana. talked about brianas upcoming date:) went to history. talked about beat poets and f*ck the government type poems(sound familiar...yeah i thought so too). made my bed. packed my bag. watched lil jon videos. then brian was out of class so we made the journey back to seattle. we listened to da vinci code cds. but then we started to fall asleep to the soothing voice of the narrator...so we turned that off and talked about tyee sluts the rest of the drive. got back to the hood. ate dinner at athens with my family and there we ran into julie so i got to eat with her too. rode home from dinner with james driving me! it was awesome. we listened to his crunk mix, we ride together, we die together, bad boys for life. after dinner i read. then david came over and we went and saw, "the grudge". we got to the theatre 50 minutes early...which is unusual for us. when we got there we saw tam and manuel. which was pretty exciting. the movie was really really scary. but it was really fun nonetheless:)
saturday...slept well in my nice bed. went to the commons(formerly known as seatac mall) with my mom. ate mcdonalds:) bought some new sweaters for myself. then we went to my little cousin michelles bday party which was a good time. after the party we dropped in and visited my nana. when we got back home i read the autobiography of an ex-coloured man for hours, beacause we had one weekend to read the whole book. college is extreme. then my family went to dinner at lago azul. good food. good times. after dinner david picked me up and we went to lys house. jessica and brian were there and james came a little bit later. james and ly played daoc because it has them locked up. the rest of us just watched tv. when watching my ems addiction to the comp game got to sad, david and i left. after much deliberation we ended up at the best hangout spot of 2004...dakotas. there were tons of people there. most in costume because it was a special halloween costume contest/bikini contest/foam party night...lol...but we stayed away from all that and kept it real...by line dancing. we slow danced to country music songs, at dakotas, on a saturday night....so yeah basically david is the coolest person ever for actually agreeing to go there with me and for actually appreciating how funny it all was:)
and now it is halloween. i love halloween. but i am terrified of ghosts/murderers/and little japanese kids making crazy noises. Current Mood: jumpyCurrent Music: ghettomusick<3i love that it has a video now | | Wednesday, October 27th, 2004 | | 12:13 am |
the nightlife...jackie style. we do it for fun.
one tree hill. felix. hot. maria menounos. hot. no appearance by skillz=sadness. today there was a lot of math homework done. and a lot of tv watched. and the night ended in its usual spot, which was refered to tonight by jaron kogel as the "famous jackie g phone talkin spot"...looks like i have a spot at western now...albeit a scary one out in the freezing cold by a fall out shelter looking thing amongst my raccoon and deer pals. tonight while i was talking to david in this spot, i set a new record for letting in locked out kids...12!! letting in locked out kids makes me feel better about myself. its the good deed that i do. theyre so greatful. however there is now a sign posted on the door saying not to let in strangers anymore without asking questions...i like to think that wasn't put up because of me. but u never know. mad love for mathes residents who get locked out in the cold cuz they are drunk or ditzy, or they got in late, or they are from somewhere else visiting a friend or gf, or they re just a strange bum who needs to be out of the cold...bring them all on. ill let them in,give them a head nod, and say, hey...its no problem. *Did you guys know that Historiography is the philosophy of history where the interpretation of history changes over time! or that total war depends on nationalism, the home front, and propoganda!
yeah, the more you know right? anyway math is kinda hard, but i m seeking help and will be victorious. this weekend was a very good time. david came and picked me up, making him the nicest person ever. it was fun road trip back, and it involved a tour of the hood where he used to run the streets. that night i got my bangs cut by a professional, my girl denise, and they look better than if i had cut them myself. then i ate dinner at the i-hop wit mom and james. it was a fun time. i reccomend the salmon special for 9 99. later that night david and i went to the homecoming game...tyee pride fo ever. we lost terribly. it was really cool seeing people though, i got darotas digits:) then david james charles and i tried to see the grudge...but it was sold out. so we rented mean girls instead and ate bacon. it was a good time. charles and james love mean girls...not really though. saturday i studied history...so many facts...1867 tenure of office act, u should all check out the 18th ammendment...outlawing drankin. anyway they changed that, which is apparent when listening to the crazy mathes residents come back from their nights on the town.
after studying i went with my parents for a delcious lunch at black angus, and got a new fleece and gloves to keep me warm, fyi it is freezing here. cold like the water scene wit leo and kate titanic cold. then we visited the nana and that was nice and i ate more food. then david was beyond starving so i ate another dinner at cuccina cuccina wit him. all this eating is to aid my thickness goal in the hopes of one day looking half as good as beyonce. there we saw lots of kids in pretty clothes for the dance, it was fun. later we saw a bunch of people and bowled and stuff and that was nice. i got to sleep in my bed with the amazing new princess silk comforter <3 sunday david and i watched totoro and reno 911 and ate some delicious mcdonalds. then i went to dinner wit my family and wordy at the spaghetti factory, it was very good. after dinner my parents drove me and matt back to wwu...they re the coolest and nicest ever for doing that. mad love for them. today i aced my history test, hopefully, it felt like i did at least. then brian and i went and saw team america...i laughed so hard my heart hurt. and then i worked it out at the rec center for a long time. hittin the weights and racing kids is a very fun way to relieve stress. well it wore me out though. so i ll end this epic post. now you have an idea of how im livin. gifford out. dance 3 6 0...head to head. head to head.
my first weekend in bellingham was soooo fun. david came up. i introduced him to delicious western food and he schooled me merry go round and the birdman in a game of bball. we went to bellis fair and went in virtually all of the stores, being there is like being in a canada, its a different world. he got me the best smelling perfume ever, and we got really scared in the store hollister...its like the oc gone wild and preppy laguna beach wannabe looking canadians were glaring at us...never again. while there i also got some delicious mcdonalds in my system. because i think i need it to function. at night we ate dinner with a bunch of people cooked by tram and terrence, it was sooooo good. japanese students are the best thing ever. after we hung out at the underground coffeehouse like the hip college kids that we are, and then watch a hallarious dave chapelle stand up special. <3 it was a reallly fun weekend:) this post contains some serious punctuation errors and run on sentences. and i apologize for that which i will blame on my tiredness and the nyquil buzz i have going. i d like to give shout outs to my girl rachele whos trip to bend sounded amazing, and my girl julie who i would like to see soon and talk to ER about. oh and as soon as my class work lets up, i m going to start writing my movie, and planning my trip to chicago. i am so tired. ignore this post. gifford out. oh and u know u are a gangster if u knoe what the title of this post means. poor kel. long time since journal entries. school is going pretty well. my classes make me think about life, and thats cool i guess cuz we re paying a lot. but they also make me hate america, but only a little bit. lots of reading. i have to read an entire book tommorrow...ahhhh. anyway last weekend was fun. went to seatac...saw friday night lights for free courtesy of chuckie combs, football movies are...not my favorite? but this one was pretty good and fun cuz i went with david and he bought me popcorn and we saw the REAL danielle paschos as oposed to the look a like who lives next door to me, and oliver kilifi. yeah then on saturday i got to go to the olive garden with my family <3, and hang out at racheles new place in seattle, where rach and i tricked david and her cool friend into watching 2 glorious hours of dawsons dvds! then we ate at dicks which is always good. track started monday and its a pretty good time. i like working hard and i met some nice girls. we ran in the woods. tonight brian and i went to see ladder 49 for his bday, it was fun, maybe not as fun as strippers and cigarettes...but a good clean time nevertheless. when i got home i found that my roommate had taped one tree hill for me. which was amazingly good lookin out on her part. i ve never spent a weekend in bellingham before...this weekend will be the first. should be very fun. i should sleep now. gifford out Current Mood: sleepyCurrent Music: destinys child-lose your breath | | Sunday, October 3rd, 2004 | | 11:49 pm |
another perfect weekend in the 206
This weekend was really nice. i came back to seatac on friday, got to see jessica curtis christine and ly, then david picked me up and we went to wendys with james. because james is a hater who refuses to go to mcdonalds, but i still love him. later we all went to see, shark tale, and that was cool. its hillarious. saturday julie stopped by and that was cool. then when james got off work we went to the commons and james bought birdmans, then he destroyed david and i at final furlong. it was good to play the game again. after the race we ate some delicious mcdonalds and went to visit the nana. then we went to southcenter so i could get my kids size birdmans:) they re great. brrrrrrrrrr. later we ordered pizza and had a crazy party wit hellla kids...aka david and i played hold em against jvc and santos, i was killing those kids...yeah anyway it was a really fun weekend. it was sad though that i had to leave early and didnt get to see rachele:( we will do it for fun tho. now that i m back at school. merry go round birdman and myself ate dinner early and watched indiana jones in the dining hall:) and its sundae sunday so i got ice cream which was nice. after dinner i read 40 pages on fighting the power and then matt passed out in the tv lounge. cuz hes insane. later i hung out with my roommates friend and our RA in my room. and that was cool. because i really should start meeting some girls around here. and now i am extremely tired and so i should probably end this post...beautiful...gifford out Current Mood: satisfiedCurrent Music: goodies ringtone | | Wednesday, September 29th, 2004 | | 11:52 pm |
holdin it down in the 360
tuesday and wednesday were pretty decent days. tuesday i got to work out hard again on the eliptical and that was fun. then we played gangster street ball and i got injured. but not too badly. after that me birdman and merry go round took another whatcom county bus adventure and ended up at mcdonalds which was awesome:) i missed that addiction, after we got back finally from the long bus ride home. i watched one tree hill real world and laguna beach with my roommate. it was fun and she seemed to enjoy the shows also. which is respectable. today i had only 2 classes and then i went to xc practice. it was scary at first but ultimately a good experience. after practice i ate some chicken for dinner, and then watched walking tall and menace to society...which are both EXTREMELY good movies. so i get to come home friday:)to supervise any out of control parties james throws, or to get crunk in the club wit him and my em...and by that i mean go buy matching birdman shoes. no tv or mcdonalds today?! wat is going on...
t o d a y...i slept better than ever cuz i got ear plugs:) then i went and listened to an interesting discussion in lit in which there lots of interesting arguments about why a white guy is teaching african lit. after that i studied in the cafeteria and ate hashbrowns. my studying turned out to be unneccesary though when i rook my math quiz and saw how amazingly easy it was:) ate lunch. went to history class and now am scared about wat to write my term paper on. read in the library like a good student. ate dinner wit brian and matt in the ridgeway dining hall by matts room, its a diff world up there, old people, hippies, more laid back than the mean girls style viking commons. anyway after dinner we tried to come up with an exciting plan like a varsity blues party or bball game. but we ultimately failed at everything we tried to do and ended up discovering the underground coffee house. its nice in there. very uncrowded and nice couches. we sat in there for a couple hours and laughed and danced and brian sang and we all seemed pretty crunk...but we weren t. it was a good time. and we established bball names. brian-merry go round. me-fearless. matt-birdman.
